> So You Want to Use SimPORTAL
How to begin using the SimPORTAL
- Fill out the request for use form (Course Proposal)
or drop by the SimPORTAL on 5th floor Mayo, and speak to Mr. Troy
Reihsen (Rm A509) or Dr. Robert Sweet.
- Your request for use form is reviewed by the SimPORTAL
and your information will be forwarded to the Clinical Director that
best meets your skills need.
- The Clinical Director will contact you to set up a meeting to talk
about your goals, objectives, resources and needs. They will also
help choose the best simulator for the skills you need to train.
- You will develop your curriculum. The
SimPORTAL has the Curriculum Assessment Council as a resource to assist
creating your competency based curriculum with clear goals, objectives,
evaluation metrics and outcomes.
- Your curriculum is reviewed by the SimPORTAL and Clinical
Directors and approval of the program will initiate allocation
of equipment and/or supplies to begin your training.
- Begin your classes and instruction! You will
meet with the SimPORTAL Manager to make sure your training goes off
without a hitch, and that you can collect your outcomes data.
